Hyperlane’s retroactive distribution will allocate 7.5% of the total HYPER supply at TGE. This program is designed to reward the most active early users of Hyperlane, in addition to the developers that have deployed contracts which generated messaging volume. Rewarding users with protocol ownership creates a flywheel for Hyperlane. These rewards incentivize application developers to continue building innovative products, with end-users rewarded simply for using them.
In the retroactive distribution, the top ~37% of fee spending users were eligible. Users or application developers must have generated at least $5.00 USD notional in fees using apps built on top of Hyperlane.
The retroactive rewards allocate 7.5% of the total HYPER supply, a combination of Expansion Rewards and discretionary boosts from the Hyperlane Foundation’s Strategic Launch Provision. More details on HYPER and Hyperlane tokenomics can be found on the Hyperlane Foundation's blog.
The following activities qualify addresses for additional “boosted” HYPER allocations:
Expansion Drop rewards augmented for message senders from chains where Hyperlane is the canonical interoperability solution (Eclipse, Injective inEVM, Lumia, SOON, Sonic SVM, Form Network) | 1.09% of supply |
Hyperlane GMP addresses holding Celestine Sloth Society or Mammoths NFTs, as of snapshot | 0.02% of supply |
Addresses LPing TIA on Manta or Arbitrum prior to Jan 30, 2024, proportional to liquidity supplied | 0.10% of supply |
Offchain community members such as top Pilot Academy contributors | 0.04% of supply |
